Pizza. Who doesn’t love pizza? There are chains everywhere. And the mom and pop shops…some of the best. So we decided to try out a new place. Maybe we should do a pizza challenge for the best pizza in the city….but that’s for a later time.
Marco’s has a couple of locations here in Colorado Springs. We went to the one on Austin Bluffs Parkway. We ordered their all meat pizza, their Hawaiian pizza, and the cheese bread.
The Hawaiian pizza had really great flavor. Tons of pineapple, but not so much that it overpowered the ham.

The all meat pizza could have used a little more in my opinion. But, I absolutely love the chunks of sausage. And when I say chunks….they literally put blobs of sausage on the pizza.

The cheese bread was your typical cheese bread. Nothing special to write home about. But it was good.

The crust on the pizzas and bread was a great consistency. It wasn’t overly doughy, had a great crisp to it, good flavor, and they will put garlic butter sauce on it for you if you ask them to.
The sauce was my biggest issue. I’m not quite sure what it was. I felt that it tasted too sweet. I’m not really a fan of sweet sauce on pizza though…some people might really like it. But for me it was definitely a turn off. I might be interested in trying their white sauce some time.
;John’s Sauce input; I agree about the sauce, not sure what it was, but for me it worked really well with the Hawaiian, but not so well with the meat lover’s.
All in all, it was a decent pizza. Was it the best I have ever had…no. But it wasn’t the worst either. I definitely would like to try some of the other things on their menu.
In conclusion, I would recommend that you give them a shot. The sausage blobs are enough on their own to make me go again. And the staff there is super friendly.
