Sandy’s is a casual dining restaurant. While the outside may not look like your typical restaurant…don’t let the appearance fool you…you totally need to go in. Grab a free cup of coffee and be prepared for a short wait if you go on a weekend morning.
Seating is very communal. While they do have some private tables and booths…the majority of the space is filled with long tables where multiple guests are seated.
The cinnamon rolls…
If you only get one thing…this is the thing to get. It is huge! The flavor is amazing and the cream cheese icing is perfect!
I got the Chicken Fried Steak. The steak itself was very tender…although it did taste like it was previously frozen. I ordered my eggs over medium, and that’s exactly how I got them. The country gravy was obviously made from scratch with nice bits of sausage in it. The main drawback of my meal was the hashbrowns. They were lacking in texture and definitely had a slight burnt taste to them.
I ordered Sandi’s Omlet with hashbrowns and toast, a single order of the biscuits and gravy, and grits.
The omlet was basically a Denver Omlet with salsa on it, made with 6 eggs, very good, definitely recommend it. The hashbrowns were on the mushy side though and not very crispy. The toast was very over cooked and very dry. The grits tasted a bit stale and because they used margarine instead of butter became very watery after mixing it in. The biscuits and gravy were really good and the gravy had sausage in it, so bonus forks for that.
As my wife said the cinnamon roll was amazing and very large. Definitely a must order if you go. I also ordered the coffee and it was good as well.
Wait staff was on it despite how busy they were, coffee was always full.
We will definitely go back…we want to try the lunch menu because it looked really good. Based on our experience…we would have to give this place 4 forks.
Definitely check them out!
